Dear Members of the Press,
We hope to demonstrate that there's "something else" going on here at Miracle Swimming Insititute. It is not normal.
We've developed a paradigm shift in teaching. As sure as 2+2=4, our system cannot possibly fail. What a relief to afraid swimmers!
Why do we say, "A Breakthrough in Teaching That Will Change All Teaching? Because our teaching is based on universal principles of teaching and learning that we haven't seen anywhere else in the world. Maybe we discovered them. We think so.
Q. Why does anyone teach swimming?
A. To prevent drownings.
Q. Why does anyone take swimming lessons?
A. For fun, and to be water-safe.
But do you know that swimming lessons don't teach people how the water works? Or how to prevent panic? How can we expect a boatload of tourists to fall into a lake when their boat accidentally turns over, and be safe if they don't know how the water works and how to prevent panic?
Students say, "I can't imagine why this isn't the universal way swimming is taught."

It has always been believed by the public and swimming instruction agencies that to overcome fear in water, one simply needed to learn to swim.
What is true, as true as 2+2=4, is the opposite: that in order to learn to swim, one must overcome his/her fear in water. Why? Because someone who panics is not in control; and someone who is not in control can't learn what to do with her arms and legs. Simple as 2+2=4.
